The Calumet Copper Kings felled the host Westwood Patriots football team by a score of 30-14 in Friday's league challenge.
In their next game, the Copper Kings face the Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) in a Western Peninsula - Copper challenge, on Friday, September 13. Calumet will attempt to improve on its 2-0 season record. The Miners go into the challenge with a 2-0 record after their 28-7 league win over Gladstone (Gladstone, MI).
The Patriots (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Menominee (Menominee, MI). The Maroons go into the Western Peninsula - Copper challenge with a 2-0 record. In their last challenge, Menominee toppled Hancock (Hancock, MI), 63-0, in a league challenge.
