California High School Football - Newport Harbor thwarted by El Modena

September 6, 2024: Newport Beach, CA 92663

El Modena Vanguards (Orange, CA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA), 55-35 in a non-league battle.

With the win, El Modena improves its record to 3-0 on the season. The Vanguards host Segerstrom (Santa Ana, CA) to play the Jaguars in a non-league battle on Thursday, September 12. The Jaguars go into the battle with a record of 3-0. Segerstrom won 50-7 in their recent non-league battle against California (Whittier, CA)

The Sailors now have a 0-3 record. They play next when they travel to Cajon for a non-league battle on Friday, September 13. Newport Harbor will play a Cowboys team coming off a 30-24 non-league win over Etiwanda (Etiwanda, CA). The Cowboys record now stands at 2-0.
