Tennessee High School Football - McMinn Central prevails Polk County

September 6, 2024: Englewood, TN 37329

In Friday's non-league match, the host McMinn Central Chargers football squad scored a good 35-16 triumph over the Polk County Wildcats.

The Chargers (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Brainerd (Chattanooga, TN). The Panthers come into the 3A Region 3 match with a 1-2 record. In their last match, Brainerd was beaten by Chattanooga Prep (Chattanooga, TN), 43-0, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Wildcats confront the Tellico Plains Bears (Tellico Plains, TN) in a 2A Region 2 match, on Friday, September 13. Polk County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Bears come into the match with a 3-0 record after their 29-0 non-league win over Sweetwater (Sweetwater, TN).
