The Powhatan Indians football squad scored 46 points and limited the visiting Mechanicsville Mustangs to 13 in the Indians non-league triumph on Friday.

The Indians now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Manchester for a Dominion test on Friday, September 13. Powhatan will meet a Lancers squad coming off a 42-8 non-league loss to Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA). The Lancers record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Mechanicsville drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Freeman (Richmond, VA) to meet the Mavericks in a non-league test on Thursday, September 12. The Mavericks come into the test with a record of 2-0. Freeman won 34-6 in their recent non-league test against James River Midlothian (Midlothian, VA)
