In Friday's non-league match, the host Union County Panthers softball team scored a tight 6-2 win over the Pickens Dragons.
The Panthers (4-3) will now prepare for their match against Lumpkin County (Dahlonega, GA). The Indians come into the non-league match with a 1-0 record.
In their next game, the Dragons confront the Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, September 11. Pickens will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Bobcats come into the match with a 1-4 record after their 11-0 non-league loss to Heritage (Ringgold, GA).
