The Ponaganset Chieftains volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the visiting St. Mary Academy-Bay View Bengals to 1 in the Chieftains non-league triumph on Friday.

The Chieftains now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Block Island for a non-league outing on Saturday, September 14.

With the loss, St. Mary Academy-Bay View drops to 0-3 on the campaign. The Bengals host Mt. Hope (Bristol, RI) to play the Huskies in a Division 2 outing on Monday, September 9. The Huskies come into the outing with a record of 1-2. Mt. Hope lost 3-0 in their recent non-league outing against Prout (Wakefield, RI)
