Lincoln-Way East Griffins (Frankfort, IL) fans went home in high spirits Saturday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Kankakee Kays (Kankakee, IL), 28-6 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Lincoln-Way East upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Griffins host Neuqua Valley (Naperville, IL) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league test on Saturday, September 13. The Wildcats come into the test with a record of 0-2. Neuqua Valley lost 42-0 in their recent non-league test against Minooka (Minooka, IL)

With the defeat, Kankakee drops to 0-1 on the campaign.
