Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD) boosters were happy Saturday as they witnessed their football squad topple the host Parkdale Panthers (Riverdale, MD), 30-6 in a non-league match.

The Spartans (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Wise (Upper Marlboro, MD). The Pumas enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Wise was beaten by Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington, DC), 18-12, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Panthers play the Potomac Wolverines (Oxon Hill, MD) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 13. Parkdale will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
