In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Dublin Gaels volleyball team scored a 2-0 victory over the Albany Cougars.

The Gaels (3-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Mater Dei Catholic (Chula Vista, CA). The Crusaders enter the non-league challenge with a 12-4 record. In their last challenge, Mater Dei Catholic beat Lincoln (San Diego, CA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cougars face the Pinole Valley Spartans (Pinole, CA) in a Tri-County - Rock test, on Monday, September 8. Albany will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Spartans go into the test with a 5-0 record after their 3-1 non-league win over San Marin (Novato, CA).
