Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Monterey Trail Mustangs (Elk Grove, CA) and the host Argonaut Mustangs (Jackson, CA), observed Monterey Trail's volleyball team top Argonaut by a tally of 2-0.

The Mustangs (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove, CA). The Wolfpack go into the Delta League test with a 4-8 record. In their last test, Cosumnes Oaks was defeated by Rio Americano (Sacramento, CA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs meet the Union Mine Diamondbacks (El Dorado, CA) in a Sierra Valley Conference challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Argonaut will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Diamondbacks enter the challenge with a 6-1 record after their 3-2 league loss to Liberty Ranch (Galt, CA).
