Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Petoskey Northmen (Petoskey, MI) and the visiting Beaverton Beavers (Beaverton, MI), observed Petoskey's volleyball team top Beaverton by a count of 2-0.

The Northmen (9-3) will now prepare for their contest against Bay City Western (Auburn, MI). The Warriors enter the non-league contest with a 5-3 record. In their last contest, Bay City Western notched a victory over Garber (Essexville, MI), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Beavers battle the Shepherd Bluejays (Shepherd, MI) in a Jack Pine battle, on Wednesday, September 10. Beaverton will attempt to improve on its 1-9 season record. The Bluejays go into the battle with a 5-4 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Hemlock (Hemlock, MI).
