Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) and the host Garrard County Golden Lions (Lancaster, KY), observed Russell County's volleyball team top Garrard County by a count of 2-0.

The Lakers (8-3) will now prepare for their contest against Rockcastle County (Mt. Vernon, KY). The Rockets enter the non-league contest with a 2-4 record. In their last contest, Rockcastle County was knocked off by Casey County (Liberty, KY), 3-2, in a league contest.

Next, the Golden Lions battle the Boyle County Rebels (Danville, KY) in a District 45 battle, on Monday, September 8. Garrard County will attempt to improve on its 3-11 season record. The Rebels go into the battle with a 2-6 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Male (Louisville, KY).
