Herrin Tigers (Herrin, IL) boosters were in high spirits Saturday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the host Carbondale Terriers (Carbondale, IL), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Tigers (4-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Chester (Chester, IL). The Yellowjackets enter the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Chester was beaten by Wesclin (Trenton, IL), 2-1, in a league challenge.

Next, the Terriers meet the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs (Mahomet, IL) in a non-league test, on Saturday, September 6. Carbondale will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Bulldogs go into the test with a 3-0 record after their 2-0 non-league win over St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL).
