The Hodgeman County Longhorns edged the host Sterling Black Bears volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league outing.

The Longhorns now possess a 3-2 record. They play next when they host Meade for a Southern Plains-Iroquois outing on Tuesday, September 9. Hodgeman County will play a Buffaloes team coming off a 2-0 league win over Satanta (Satanta, KS). The Buffaloes record now stands at 2-3.

The Black Bears (2-2) will now prepare for their game against Skyline (Pratt, KS). The Thunderbirds go into the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Skyline nudged South Barber (Kiowa, KS), 2-1, in a league game.
