Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Imlay City Spartans (Imlay City, MI) and the host Renaissance Phoenix (Detroit, MI), observed Imlay City's volleyball team top Renaissance by a count of 2-0.

The Spartans (14-3) will now prepare for their contest against Armada (Armada, MI). The Tigers enter the Blue Water Area battle with a 0-8 record. In their last battle, Armada was defeated by Brown City (Brown City, MI), 2-1, in a non-league battle.

The Phoenix now own a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Farmington for a non-league battle on Wednesday, September 10. Renaissance will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Stoney Creek (Rochester Hills, MI). The Raiders record now stands at 2-6.
