The Jefferson Hawks topped the visiting Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings volleyball team by a tally of 2-0 in Saturday's non-league outing.

The Hawks now have a 3-6 record. They play next when they travel to Hempstead for a non-league outing on Tuesday, September 9. Jefferson will confront a Mustangs squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Clear Creek-Amana (Tiffin, IA). The Mustangs record now stands at 5-3.

The Vikings (0-5) will now prepare for their game against Grinnell (Grinnell, IA). The Tigers go into the non-league game with a 3-3 record. In their last game, Grinnell went down by Center Point-Urbana (Center Point, IA), 3-0, in a non-league game.
