The Johnston Dragons (Johnston, IA) volleyball held off the host Kennedy Cougars (Cedar Rapids, IA), 2-1 in Saturday's non-league bout.
The Dragons now hold a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northwest for a non-league match on Tuesday, September 9. Johnston will battle a Wolves squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Pella (Pella, IA). The Wolves record now stands at 9-0.
The Cougars (6-4) will now prepare for their match against Liberty (North Liberty, IA). The Lightning enter the non-league match with a 2-2 record. In their last match, Liberty was tipped by Assumption (Davenport, IA), 2-1, in a non-league match.
