Lakeview Spartans (Battle Creek, MI) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Mendon Hornets (Mendon, MI), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Spartans (11-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Harper Creek (Battle Creek, MI). The Beavers come into the non-league challenge with a 1-6 record. In their last challenge, Harper Creek lost by Mattawan (Mattawan, MI), 3-2, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Hornets play the Colon Magi (Colon, MI) in a Southern Central challenge, on Tuesday, September 9. Mendon will attempt to upgrade on its 11-1 season record. The Magi come into the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 3-1 league loss to St. Philip Catholic Central (Battle Creek, MI).
