Mendon Hornets (Mendon, MI) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Thornapple Kellogg Trojans (Middleville, MI), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets (11-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Athens (Athens, MI). The Indians come into the Southern Central challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, Athens beat Bellevue (Bellevue, MI), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Trojans meet the Athens Indians (Athens, MI) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 6. Thornapple Kellogg will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 3-0 league win over Bellevue (Bellevue, MI).
