In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Wheeling Central Catholic Maroon Knights volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Monroe Central Seminoles.

The Maroon Knights (3-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Shadyside (Shadyside, OH). The Tigers come into the non-league challenge with a 3-6 record.

Next, the Seminoles meet the River Pilots (Hannibal, OH) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, September 8. Monroe Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Pilots come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 3-0 league win over Frontier (New Matamoras, OH).
