Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Northview Wildcats (Sylvania, OH) and the host Steele Comets (Amherst, OH), observed Northview's volleyball team top Steele by a count of 3-1.
The Wildcats (5-4) will now prepare for their contest against Anthony Wayne (Whitehouse, OH). The Generals enter the Northern Lakes challenge with a 9-1 record. In their last challenge, Anthony Wayne beat St. Ursula Academy (Toledo, OH), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Comets face the North Ridgeville Rangers (North Ridgeville, OH) in a Southwestern test, on Tuesday, September 9. Steele will attempt to improve on its 3-7 season record. The Rangers go into the test with a 6-3 record after their 3-2 league loss to Avon Lake (Avon Lake, OH).

AMHERST - The Cats comeback and push towards the halfway point of the season was capped off on Saturday with a decisive four set victory over the Amherst Comets to push Northview to 5-4, 3-2 in the NLL and 1-1 in the Buckeye Division.
Leading for Northview was junior setter Alayna Sauer, with 29 assists, 6 blocks, 6 digs, 4 kills, hitting .667 and 3 aces. Senior pin hitters, Talia Twigg and Bri Langenderfer led the Cats with 9 kills, and junior middle blocker, Frankie Ramsdell-Washington with 6 kills and 8 blocks, and junior pin, Molly Suon, with 6 kills. Langenderfer added a team high 6 aces. Defensively, the Cats were led by sophomore libero, Jade Hagan, with 12 digs and Twigg was able to add 12 as well.
The Cats travel on Tuesday to NLL leader, Anthony Wayne.
