The Wakefield Cardinals held off the visiting Washburn Castle Guards volleyball team by a margin of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league outing.

The Cardinals now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Dollar Bay for a non-league outing on Thursday, September 11. Wakefield will play a Bays team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Superior Central (Eben Junction, MI). The Bays record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Washburn drops to 3-7 on the campaign. The Castle guards travel to Ashland (Ashland, WI) to confront the Oredockers in a non-league match on Saturday, September 6. The Oredockers enter the match with a record of 1-2. Ashland lost 3-0 in their recent non-league match against Duluth East (Duluth, MN)
