The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) and the host South River Seahawks (Edgewater, MD), saw Northern's volleyball squad beat South River by a tally of 3-0.
With the win, Northern upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Patriots host Calvert (Prince Frederick, MD) to play the Cavaliers in a Southern Maryland bout on Monday, September 12. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 0-0.
The Seahawks now own a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Mount de Sales Academy for a non-league bout on Saturday, September 10. South River will play a Sailors squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to St. John's (Washington, DC). The Sailors record now stands at 1-1.
