Sanderson Spartans (Raleigh, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Corinth Holders Pirates (Wendell, NC), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans face the Riverside-Durham Pirates (Durham, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, September 13. Sanderson will attempt to better on its 5-2 season record. The Pirates enter the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 7-4 non-league loss to Wakefield (Raleigh, NC).

The Pirates now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host Fuquay - Varina for a Greater Neuse River 4A challenge on Monday, September 11. Corinth Holders will face a Bengals team coming off a 1-0 non-league win over Apex (Apex, NC). The Bengals record now stands at 1-6.
