The Cordell Blue Devils routed the visiting Velma-Alma Comets softball squad by a count of 8-3 in Thursday's non-league battle.
The Blue Devils (3-17) will now prepare for their battle against Cache (Cache, OK). The Bulldogs go into the non-league battle with a 18-8 record. In their last battle, Cache was routed by Tuttle (Tuttle, OK), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
The Comets now sport a 3-17 record. They play next when they travel to Snyder for a Class A battle on Thursday, September 7. Velma-Alma will meet a Cyclones squad coming off a 22-3 league loss to Carnegie (Carnegie, OK). The Cyclones record now stands at 2-6.
