The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Deer River Warriors (Deer River, MN) and the visiting Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans (Nashwauk, MN), saw Deer River's volleyball squad nip Nashwauk-Keewatin by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Deer River upgrades its record to 1-2 on the year. The Warriors travel to North Woods (Cook, MN) to play the grizzlies in a non-league bout on Monday, September 11. The grizzlies go into the bout with a record of 4-0. North Woods won 3-0 in their recent league bout against Mesabi East (Aurora, MN)

The Spartans now own a 0-4 record. They play next when they host Northland for a Northern Lakes bout on Tuesday, September 12.
