Alton Redbirds (Alton, IL) boosters exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team triumph over the visiting University City Lions (St. Louis, MO), 6-1 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Alton moves its record to 4-2 on the campaign. The Redbirds host Belleville West (Belleville, IL) to clash with the Maroons in a Southwestern test on Tuesday, September 10. The Maroons come into the test with a record of 4-2. Belleville West won 3-1 in their recent league test against Collinsville (Collinsville, IL)

The Lions now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to McCluer for a Suburban - North test on Tuesday, September 10. University City will clash with a Comets team coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Jennings (Jennings, MO). The Comets record now stands at 1-0.
