Fans at Saturday's non-league battle between the Milton Black Panthers (Milton, PA) and the host Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA), saw Milton's soccer squad hold off Wellsboro by a count of 2-1.

The Black Panthers (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Midd-West (Middleburg, PA). The Mustangs enter the Heartland I battle with a 4-1 record. In their last battle, Midd-West was edged by Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, PA), 3-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Hornets battle the Williamson Warriors (Tioga, PA) in a North Tier battle, on Tuesday, September 10. Wellsboro will attempt to upgrade on its 5-1 season record. The Warriors enter the battle with a 3-1 record after their 8-2 non-league win over Northeast Bradford (Rome, PA).
