Next, the Bearcats meet the Central City Bison (Central City, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, September 7. Kearney will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Bison go into the challenge with a 4-4 record after their 7-6 non-league win over St. Paul (St. Paul, NE).

The Huskies (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Cozad (Cozad, NE). The Haymakers go into the non-league challenge with a 4-7 record. In their last challenge, Cozad was routed by Highway 6 (Holdrege, NE), 6-5, in a non-league challenge.
