In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting East Bakersfield Blades volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Kennedy Thunderbirds.

The Blades (13-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Tehachapi (Tehachapi, CA). The Warriors come into the non-league challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Tehachapi edged Golden Valley (Bakersfield, CA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Thunderbirds meet the Delano Tigers (Delano, CA) in a South Sequoia challenge, on Tuesday, September 10. Kennedy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Granite Hills (Porterville, CA).
