The El Modena Vanguards volleyball team scored 2 points and restricted the visiting Rio Mesa Spartans to 0 in the Vanguards non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Vanguards now possess a 1-9 record. They play next when they host Brea Olinda for a Freeway outing on Wednesday, September 11. El Modena will play a Wildcats team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Whittier Christian (La Habra, CA). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-9.

With the loss, Rio Mesa drops to 4-10 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Pacifica (Oxnard, CA) to play the Tritons in a Channel outing on Tuesday, September 10. The Tritons come into the outing with a record of 5-3.
