In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Treynor Cardinals volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Knoxville Panthers.

The Cardinals (8-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Roosevelt (Des Moines, IA). The Roughriders enter the challenge with a 7-4 record. In their last challenge, Roosevelt got by Atlantic (Atlantic, IA), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Panthers meet the Davis County Mustangs (Bloomfield, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 10. Knoxville will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a 1-10 record after their 2-0 league loss to Mt. Vernon (Mt. Vernon, IA).
