The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes edged the visiting Lumpkin County Indians volleyball squad by a final score of 2-1 in Saturday's non-league game.

Next up, the Purple Hurricanes face the Athens Academy Spartans (Athens, GA) in a non-league game, on Saturday, September 7. Monroe Area will attempt to advance on its 11-13 season record. The Spartans go into the game with a 7-10 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Monroe Area (Monroe, GA).
