In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Sigourney Savages volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves.

The Savages (7-1) will now prepare for their challenge against WACO (Wayland, IA). The Warriors come into the challenge with a 3-4 record. In their last challenge, WACO was nudged by Fairfield (Fairfield, IA), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Wolves meet the English Valleys Bears (North English, IA) in a challenge, on Saturday, September 7. Winfield-Mt. Union will attempt to upgrade on its 6-3 season record. The Bears come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Mediapolis (Mediapolis, IA).
