In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host West Linn Lions volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the West Albany Bulldogs.

The Lions (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Grant (Portland, OR). The Generals go into the non-league battle with a 0-2 record. In their last battle, Grant was edged by Oregon City (Oregon City, OR), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Bulldogs now own a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Crescent Valley for a 5A Mid-Willamette battle on Tuesday, September 10. West Albany will encounter a Raiders squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Philomath (Philomath, OR). The Raiders record now stands at 1-1.
