In Thursday's non-league match, the host Southside football squad scored a close 35-33 victory over the Cecilia Bulldogs.
In their next game, the clash with the Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA) in a 5A District 3 match, on Friday, September 16. Southside will attempt to move on its 1-1 season record. The Bears enter the match with a 2-0 record after their 50-29 league win over Barbe (Lake Charles, LA).
The Bulldogs (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Washington-Marion (Lake Charles, LA). The Charging Indians enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Washington-Marion was nudged by Northside (Lafayette, LA), 45-20, in a non-league match.
