Mt. Vernon Wildcats (Mt. Vernon, IN) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host South Spencer Rebels (Rockport, IN), 7-2 in a league challenge.

Next, the Wildcats confront the Gibson Southern Titans (Fort Branch, IN) in a Pocket challenge, on Monday, September 12. Mt. Vernon will attempt to better on its 5-2 season record.

The Rebels now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Princeton for a Pocket challenge on Saturday, September 10. South Spencer will confront a Tigers team coming off a 2-0 league win over Pike Central (Petersburg, IN). The Tigers record now stands at 4-3.
