R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host West Lincoln Rebels (Lincolnton, NC), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Hilltoppers confront the Hendersonville Bearcats (Hendersonville, NC) in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge, on Monday, September 12. R-S Central will attempt to better on its 3-4 season record. The Bearcats enter the challenge with a 2-2 record after their 4-1 non-league win over Enka (Enka, NC).

The Rebels now have a 2-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bandys for a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A challenge on Monday, September 12. West Lincoln will confront a Trojans team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 6-0.
