Bacon County Raiders (Alma, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Pelham Hornets (Pelham, GA), 7-2 in a league challenge.

The Raiders now sport a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Emanuel County Institute for a non-league challenge on Saturday, September 10. Bacon County will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-2 league win over McIntosh County Academy (Darien, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-4.

With the loss, Pelham falls to 2-6 on the campaign. The Hornets host Brooks County (Quitman, GA) to face the Trojans in a 1A D-I Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, September 13. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. Brooks County lost 19-0 in their recent league challenge against Irwin County (Ocilla, GA)
