North Carolina High School Football - McDowell tipped by Avery County

September 8, 2023: Newland, NC 28657

The McDowell Titans football team (Marion, NC), was tipped 23-22 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC)

The Vikings (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Tigers come into the Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge with a 0-4 record. In their last challenge, Rosman was tipped by Cherokee (Cherokee, NC), 64-25, in a non-league challenge.

The Titans now sport a 0-4 record. They take the field next when they host T.C. Roberson for a Mountain Athletic 3A/4A challenge on Friday, September 15. McDowell will meet a Rams team coming off a 35-7 non-league win over Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC). The Rams record now stands at 2-1.
