The Lanphier Lions football team (Springfield, IL), was ripped 55-14 in Friday's non-league challenge with the host Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL)
The Maroons (1-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Centennial (Champaign, IL). The Chargers come into the Big Twelve challenge with a 3-0 record. In their last challenge, Centennial trounced Richwoods (Peoria, IL), 33-20, in a league challenge.
The Lions now sport a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Decatur Eisenhower for a Central State Eight challenge on Friday, September 15. Lanphier will meet a Panthers team coming off a 58-0 league loss to Glenwood (Chatham, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 0-3.
