Ohio High School Football - Elgin prevails Ridgemont

September 8, 2023: Marion, OH 43302

The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) and the visiting Ridgemont Golden Gophers (Mount Victory, OH), observed Elgin's football squad defeat Ridgemont by a count of 53-26.

The Comets now own a 4-0 record. They play next when they travel to Fairbanks for a non-league contest on Saturday, September 9. Elgin will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 16-2 league win over Catholic Central (Springfield, OH). The Panthers record now stands at 1-3.

Coming up next, the Golden Gophers encounter the Crestline Bulldogs (Crestline, OH) in a Northwest Central contest, on Friday, September 15. Ridgemont will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 0-4 record after their 46-0 league loss to Ridgedale (Morral, OH).
