The Galena Pirates football team (Galena, IL), was beaten 30-16 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Forreston Cardinals (Forreston, IL)
The Cardinals (3-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Pearl City-Eastland (Pearl City, IL). The Wildcats come into the Northwest Upstate Illini challenge with a 0-3 record. In their last challenge, Pearl City-Eastland was beaten by Fulton (Fulton, IL), 14-6, in a league challenge.
The Pirates now sport a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saranac for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 15. Galena will meet a Redskins team coming off a 40-6 league win over Dansville (Dansville, MI). The Redskins record now stands at 2-1.
