The Hays Indians (Hays, KS) football nudged the visiting Great Bend Panthers (Great Bend, KS), 28-27 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Indians face the Manhattan Indians (Manhattan, KS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 15. Hays will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Indians enter the bout with a 2-0 record after their 55-19 non-league win over Topeka (Topeka, KS).

The Panthers (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Buhler (Buhler, KS). The Crusaders enter the non-league bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Buhler held off Circle (Towanda, KS), 21-13, in a non-league bout.
