    The Starmount Rams walloped the host North Wilkes Vikings football team by a count of 62-12 in Friday's non-league outing.

    With the win, Starmount upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Rams host Alleghany (Sparta, NC) to encounter the Trojans in a Northwest 1A outing on Friday, September 15. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Alleghany lost 35-7 in their recent non-league bout against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC)

    The Vikings (0-4) will now prepare for their bout against Surry Central (Dobson, NC). The Golden Eagles enter the 2A Foothills bout with a 1-3 record. In their last bout, Surry Central walloped Elkin (Elkin, NC), 46-15, in a non-league bout.
