In Friday's non-league contest, the Effingham County Rebels (Springfield, GA) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Madison County Red Raiders (Danielsville, GA), by a margin of 11-0.

With the triumph, Effingham County moves its record to 11-2 on the year. The Rebels host Glynn Academy (Brunswick, GA) to play the Terrors in a 6A Region 2 contest on Tuesday, September 12. The Terrors come into the contest with a record of 4-7.

In their next game, the Red Raiders play the Richmond Hill Wildcats (Richmond Hill, GA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 8. Madison County will attempt to move on its 10-7 season record.
