In Friday's non-league contest, the Granite Hills Cougars (Apple Valley, CA) volleyball squad edged the host Academy for Academic Excellence Knights (Apple Valley, CA), by a margin of 3-2.

Next up, the Cougars battle the Silverado Hawks (Victorville, CA) in a Desert Sky contest, on Tuesday, September 12. Granite Hills will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record. The Hawks come into the contest with a 7-5 record after their 3-2 league win over Victor Valley (Victorville, CA).

With the loss, Academy for Academic Excellence drops to 7-1 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Riverside Prep (Oro Grande, CA) to battle the Silver Knights in a Cross Valley contest on Tuesday, September 12. The Silver Knights come into the contest with a record of 1-7.
