In Friday's non-league battle, the visiting Burkeville Mustangs volleyball team scored a 3-0 triumph over the West Orange-Stark Mustangs.
The Mustangs (6-9) will now prepare for their battle against Newton (Newton, TX). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 5-8 record. In their last battle, Newton lost by Anahuac (Anahuac, TX), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Mustangs clash with the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears (Orange, TX) in a non-league battle, on Saturday, September 9. West Orange-Stark will attempt to advance on its 0-11 season record. The Bears come into the battle with a 15-11 record after their 3-1 non-league win over Hardin-Jefferson (Sour Lake, TX).
