The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Chaparral Firebirds (Scottsdale, AZ) and the host Marcos de Niza Padres (Tempe, AZ), saw Chaparral's volleyball squad beat Marcos de Niza by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Chaparral upgrades its record to 10-6 on the year. The Firebirds travel to Skyline (Mesa, AZ) to play the Coyotes in a non-league bout on Friday, September 8. The Coyotes go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Skyline won 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against Sunnyside (Tucson, AZ)

The Padres now own a 0-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Goldwater for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 12. Marcos de Niza will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Moon Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 1-3.
