The Thornton Wildcats held off the visiting Chicago Hope Academy volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Friday's non-league test.
The Wildcats now have a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Gary West Side for a non-league test on Friday, September 8. Thornton will confront a Cougars team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Wheeler (Valparaiso, IN). The Cougars record now stands at 0-2.
The (3-6) will now prepare for their test against East Chicago Central (East Chicago, IN). The Cardinals enter the non-league test with a 2-6 record. In their last test, East Chicago Central was nudged by Hebron (Hebron, IN), 2-0, in a non-league test.
